YOU can make me clean...

Our Daily Torah Portions continue to be about clean and unclean things and the last couple chapters have focused on leprosy. I talked about Naaman the other day. Today I want to focus on a story in the New Testament.

Matthew 8:2-3

Then a man afflicted with tzara‘at came, kneeled down in front of him and said, “Sir, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Yeshua reached out his hand, touched him and said, “I am willing! Be cleansed!” And at once he was cleansed from his tzara’at. (CJB)

First, the word “tzara’at” is a skin disease like leprosy, according to the Complete Jewish Bible. Evidently the easiest way to translate it is “leprosy.”

I am sure we have all heard these stories about lepers and how Jesus healed them. This one is about the individual man that came to Jesus.

I want to focus on the fact that this mane said, “Sir, IF you are willing, you can make me clean.”

He didn’t demand it. He didn’t beg. He came in FAITH and said, “IF…”

So often we think we deserve to be healthy. We think we deserve to be clean.

WE don’t DESERVE anything. We only have because GOD has granted us LIFE. WE are required to come before HIM, kneel and say, “IF…” and, “I BELIEVE…”

I firmly believe God grants us our requests. I firmly believe GOD wants us HEALTHY and in a SOUND MIND. BUT - we have to ASK to be made CLEAN. Even today, as I was preparing to do my Facebook Live video, I realized that I needed to ask HIM to make my mind CLEAN. REMOVE the stuff in it that was NOT from Him. I wanted to focus on HIM.

When we humbly come before HIM, HE is willing and says, “Be cleansed!”

What do YOU need to be cleansed of? What do YOU need to lay before HIM?

Approach HIM and BELIEVE. Approach HIM and say, “IF you are willing, make me clean from…” I firmly believe that YOU will be made clean!

Love and blessings,

Rose
