Power and Love

Proverbs 8:12-19

“I, wisdom, live together with caution;

I attain knowledge and discretion.

13 The fear of Adonai is hatred of evil.

I hate pride and arrogance,

evil ways and duplicitous speech.

14 Good advice is mine, and common sense;

I am insight, power is mine.

15 By me kings reign,

and princes make just laws.

16 By me princes govern,

nobles too, and all the earth’s rulers.

17 I love those who love me;

and those who seek me will find me.

18 Riches and honor are with me,

lasting wealth and righteousness.

19 My fruit is better than gold, fine gold,

my produce better than the finest silver.

So much is packed in the verses above. It's kind of hard to know where to start. Let's see if I can breakdown a few key points. You might find something else key, but that is the beauty of letting Holy Spirit speak to us. If I read these verses again in a year, I might find something else important.

Wisdom LIVES TOGETHER with caution... Too many people today act on impulse. Impulse shopping, running out to eat, so many are doing things "on a whim because it feels good." Friends, wisdom LIVES with caution. If you want to LIVE and gain understanding, one exercises caution.

"I HATE pride and arrogance, evil ways and duplicitous speech." Yes, I added the emphasis on hate, but let's be honest, these things cannot be a part of who God is. If it isn't part of who God is, than we should push it aside and not let it enter our thoughts. Pride and arrogance only hurt us, and those around us.

Looking at verse 14 I found it interesting that it says, "power is mine." Often I have thought that power is not good, but reading this I realize that power is not bad, it just needs to be handled properly. With the wisdom and strength from Adonai it is needed because laws that govern can be established. When it is God's power, it is healthy and needed.

Verse 17 is such an amazing promise. Read this and let it sink in:

I love those who love me;

and those who seek me will find me.

Do you KNOW that He loves you??? Are you seeking HIM? If you are, than you will KNOW that love, and believe me, it is beyond anything you can ask, hope or imagine!

Friends, let's focus on that today. Take time to focus on SEEKING Him, and then KNOWING that He loves you. If more people in the world had a solid foundation in HIS love, we wouldn't be seeking it in other places.

Once you find a place of KNOWING His love, than walk in HIS power and wisdom. Take HIS authority in your life and use it for HIS glory in the communities around you.

Love and blessings,

Rose
