My ways are NOT your ways...

I had a verse picked out for today and when I opened BibleGateway it went away… The verse of the day on this site was

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts. (NIV)

This is the version most of us have learned this verse from. Many of us probably have it memorized. The question today is, do we REALLY trust God that this is TRUTH?

Many of us are going though difficult circumstances or asking God questions. I believe it is okay to ask God, “why?” It is when we continue to focus on the “why” that I believe we can struggle.

God’s ways are truly higher than our ways. His thoughts confound ours. We MUST trust Him and believe that HE knows best. NOT EASY to do…

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

and your ways are not my ways,” says Adonai.

“As high as the sky is above the earth

are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts. (CJB)

The Complete Jewish Bible has the same lines except…

“As HIGH as the sky is above the earth…”

I prefer this line. It makes me stop and look to the heavens and really SEE how big God is.

STOP and claim this verse today! I know it is one that we hear often, but really make it your own. TRUST Him in a new way.
