Harvest... be ready!
32 As they were going, a man controlled by a demon and unable to speak was brought to Yeshua. 33 After the demon was expelled the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed. “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Isra’el,” they said. 34 But the P’rushim (Pharisees) said, “It is through the ruler of the demons that he expels demons.”
35 Yeshua went about all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and weakness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were harried and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his talmidim, (disciples) “The harvest is rich, but the workers are few. 38 Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers to gather in his harvest.”
Another miracle... another demon cast out. There were those who were amazed, and those who questioned... It seems that this is a normal/usual part of life.
And yet, we continue to get frustrated when people question us. We continue to be discouraged when people around us don't understand. So often, we (or maybe it is just me) focus on the ones who question rather than on those who stand with us.
Jesus had compassion... He saw the crowds of people as "sheep without a shepherd." They were "harried and helpless." He stopped to take care of them. He stopped to bring them LIFE and PEACE.
The teaching to His disciples was: "The harvest is rich." What I find interesting is that He told His disciples to, "Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers..." Jesus did not tell the disciples to pray for the workers, He said, "Pray that the Lord of the harvest..."
We all need to be ready... We all need to be prepared. Anywhere we go. Wherever we are. Be ready to bring the LIGHT and LIFE people need. Bring the TRUTH with love and compassion.
