Harmless as a dove...
Matthew 10:16-20
16 “Pay attention! I am sending you out like sheep among wolves, so be as prudent as snakes and as harmless as doves.17 Be on guard, for there will be people who will hand you over to the local Sanhedrins and flog you in their synagogues.18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as a testimony to them and to the Goyim (Gentiles/nations).19 But when they bring you to trial, do not worry about what to say or how to say it; when the time comes, you will be given what you should say. 20 For it will not be just you speaking, but the Spirit of your heavenly Father speaking through you.
The Father will speak through you... Comforting words to end the thoughts that we will be persecuted. Comforting words to know that even when people speak against us, God will give us the words to say.
Sheep among wolves... There are people who will always try to put you down. There are people who will not like you. How will you respond?
This says to be "as prudent as snakes." Be aware. Know your surroundings. But, when, or if, you are "attacked" be as "harmless as doves." We don't need to "fight" in return. We walk out the situation. There is no need to "attack" or return the attack. GOD will speak through us and give you words so you can be as "harmless as a dove."
Do you TRUST Him enough today to be "harmless as a dove?" Will you stop and let HIM give you words?
