Fountain of LIFE

Proverbs 10:11-15

The speech of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the speech of the wicked is a cover for violence.

12 Hate stirs up disputes, but love covers all kinds of transgressions.

13 On the lips of the intelligent is found wisdom, but a stick is in store for the back of a fool. 14 Wise people hide their knowledge, but when a fool speaks, ruin is imminent.

15 The wealth of the rich is his fortified city; the ruin of the poor is their poverty.

More interesting thoughts... Verse 14, "Wise people hide their knowledge..." I had to stop and think about it because part of me would say that wise people share their knowledge. Then I realized, wise people share their knowledge when they are asked, but they don't pridefully share what is given to them. Most I know really do "hide their knowledge" and wait to be approached before they share their wisdom.

Hate, as most of us know, does stir up dispute. Learning to love in the middle of arguments is not easy. When temper flare words are spoken. When anger is hidden in a heart, it will come out. That is why the Word is clear when it says, "Be angry, sin not." It doesn't say not be angry, it just says, "Don't sin when you are..." Hate brings that out, so find a way to get rid of hate. You don't have to like what someone is doing, or their lifestyle. There is a way to show them love without hating.

The beginning part of verse one says it all once again,

"The speech of the righteous is a fountain of LIFE."

I love finding verses that speak LIFE. When we life one another up we find that LIFE much easier.

Friends, take the time to speak kindness to one another. Take the time to be righteous. Don't let hate and anger fill you. It isn't worth the consequences that come.

Love and blessings,

Rose
