Bring the Solution...
Matthew 8:28-34
28 When Yeshua arrived at the other side of the lake, in the Gadarenes’ territory, there came out of the burial caves two men controlled by demons, so violent that no one dared travel on that road. 29 They screamed, “What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” 30 Now some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons begged him, “If you are going to drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” 32 “All right, go!” he told them. So they came out and went into the pigs, whereupon the entire herd rushed down the hillside into the lake and drowned. 33 The swineherds fled, went off to the town and told the whole story, including what had happened to the demonized men. 34 At this, the whole town came out to meet Yeshua. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their district.
A miracle, and a rejection of Jesus...
For some reason I did not remember that there were TWO men controlled by demons when they came out of the caves. And, they were burial caves. These men were violent. No one wanted to pass by them. I'm sure those tending the pigs (the swineherds) hated being in the area because of torment from these two men.
Jesus, with one command, told the demons to "Go." Out they went, into a herd of pigs who ran down the cliffs and perished in the Sea of Galilee.
The swineherds watched what happened to the pigs they were tending, and went to the nearby town to tell the people what happened. When the people came out to meet Jesus, they actually "BEGGED HIM TO LEAVE."
Jesus had just made Himself known into an area that was not Jewish. He performed a miracle that was unheard of - demons leaving a man and entering pigs. These people, we believe, were part of one of the cities of Decapolis. Completely outside the Jewish faith. I'm sure they had some understanding of how the Jews lived because they were everywhere around the surrounding area, but based on this story, they were NOT interested in following, or understanding, Who Jesus was.
We are watching "protests," actually they are riots, happening in the streets of many cities. Not only have we had the virus shut down businesses, now we have unlawful people wreaking more havoc into the lives of many people.
I posted a verse today from the book of Zechariah 1:3
Therefore, tell them that Adonai-Tzva’otsays this: ‘“Return to me,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “and I will return to you,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot. (emphasis mine)
God wants us to RETURN TO HIM. Stop today, and let Him CLEAN YOUR HEART. Let HIM bring LOVE to your soul. Let Him do the MIRACLE of cleaning you out. Don't reject what He is doing. Embrace Him and bring PEACE to your soul, and then share that PEACE with those around you. Be the miracle to those around you, even if it means rejection.
Don't be a part of the problem, bring a SOLUTION - HIS Love... Be His LIGHT
