Soft whisper of a voice...

Today as I was trying to think about a verse to share with you, the WIND picked up and was quite strong. I went out to pick up some things that were blowing around and when I came in the kids all said, “Mom! What happened to your hair?”

Needless to say, I decided to choose a verse about wind. There are several but I chose

I Kings 19:11-13

Then He said, “Come out and stand on the mount before Adonai.”Behold, Adonai was passing by—a great and mighty wind was tearing at the mountains and shattering cliffs before Adonai. But Adonai was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but Adonai was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but Adonai was not in the fire. After the fire there was a soft whisper of a voice. As soon as Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out and stood at the entrance of the cave.

Then all of a sudden, a voice addressed him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (TLV)

Most of us have heard these verses over and over. They are common, but STRONG.

I have heard God speak to me in the wind.

I have felt several earthquakes and definitely have asked God what He wants to show me or if there is something I should learn.

I have looked in a fire and had a revelation.

God can, and does use, all kinds of natural events to speak to us.

However, these verses show us that God desires the “soft whisper of a voice.” I believe that this is where we find Him most often. We “hear” HIM when we stop, focus, listen.

He can show us so much in the major events, but desires the quiet rest with us. This is why I enjoy Shabbat. This is why I enjoy my mornings. A quiet time…

Take time to STOP. LISTEN. HE is THERE.

Love and blessings,

Rose
