YOU are LOVED!
Today is the last day of the Gregorian calendar year 2018. Many are making New Year’s Resolutions. Many are wanting to start the year with new beginnings.
Yesterday I shared that Jesus prayed for you. My mind was drawn today to the word love. So many verses about love. However, the one my heart settled on is a verse so common even those who don’t believe in the Bible have heard it.
John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. (CJB)
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. (TPT)
I read from both translations. They both use a word that I never heard when I learned this verse growing up. It is easy to spot, “unique.”
The word “unique” adds a dimension to this verse and thought that I never considered before. It shows us that God knows HE has something no other religion has.
LOVE
He LOVED His people. He LOVED those He created. He LOVED them so much He sent Someone to live among them.
This Person was a gift.
I know many do not believe the Bible. Or you might believe the Old Testament/Torah and not understand the second half most people call the “New Testament.”
Today I want you to know that YOU are LOVED. If you don’t want to believe in God, know that I LOVE YOU.
Start the New Year knowing that there is LOVE flowing freely. Receive it and believe in it, than share it with those around you.
