MORE than I need...
Sometimes it seems that we always turn to the Psalms when we need comfort and healing. I don’t think this is all bad. The words that David penned were often done when he was in a place of running from enemies or in despair. If he can find ways to encourage himself when all seems helpless and lost, I think we should read what he wrote!
Today’s verse is from Psalm 13:6
But I trust in your grace,
my heart rejoices as you bring me to safety.
I will sing to Adonai, because he gives me
even more than I need. (CJB)
This verse is very straight forward.
Trust in HIS GRACE.
REJOICE because HE brings you to SAFETY! And according to this verse your HEART must be rejoice!
SING to HIM.
Why should we do ALL of these things?
BECAUSE HE gives even MORE than I need.
I think this is a good reason to give thanks! He knows what we need before we ask. However, HE wants to HEAR it from us, and then we GIVE THANKS for what HE has done.
Claim HIS promises today. They are straight from HIS WORD. David was a man after God’s own heart. David cried tears. David hid. David found solitude in giving thanks and praise to a GOD who ALWAYS provided what he needed.
