I Call to God...

The verse I chose today is from Psalm 57:2.

I call to God, the Most High,

to God, who is accomplishing his purpose for me.

This chapter actually had several verses I wanted to use. Towards the end there were verses about giving thanks and making music. Those are always uplifting and put a song in my heart.

I decided to focus on verse two because I thought the last line was important.

“who is accomplishing his purpose for me.”

Many times when we call out to God we say, “I need this.” “Please open this door for me.” I would like this response today when I am at the doctor.” “….. needs to respond differently to me.”

I am guilty of this myself. Asking God to bless something that I want.

I’m not saying that God doesn’t want to give us the desires of our heart. We know this from another verse in Psalms.

I’m not saying that we can’t claim and believe out loud that “today will be a great day!” Or, that we can’t claim and believe that a loved one will come to know the Lord.

We do need to stay positive and pray believing over ourselves and loved ones that God will take care of us.

We need to stay focused on how God sees us, and how God sees others.

However, this line in this verse is clear: I call to God, who is accomplishing HIS purpose for me. HE ultimately knows best. HE ultimately leads us in paths of righteousness. HE ultimately wants to accomplish HIS purpose in our lives.

Ultimately we must surrender our will to HIM and walk out what HE wants. We must turn our desires and wants over to HIM and let HIM take care of them in HIS time. We must lay our thoughts at HIS feet and let HIM remove the worry and strife.

We call out to HIM. HE then accomplishes HIS purpose in us.

Today, let HIM lead you. Listen to HIS Spirit. Put your desires aside and say, “Lord, accomplish YOUR purpose in me.”

Love and blessings,

Rose
