Build on Rock

Matthew 7:24-29

24 “So, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on bedrock. 25 The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the winds blew and beat against that house, but it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the wind blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed — and its collapse was horrendous!”

28 When Yeshua had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at the way he taught, 29 for he was not instructing them like their Torah-teachers but as one who had authority himself.

The first thought that comes to mind when I read these verses is a childhood song, "Don't build your house on the sandy land..." We are told in the Word (we will read it as we continue through the book of Matthew) that in the end there will be floods, wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines etc... I woke up this morning to news of floods occurring in Michigan. A cyclone hit India and Bangladesh. Quarantine and Covid-19 have messed with many people and caused great havoc.

Where have you built your "house." Your body is a living temple for HIS Words. Have you built your life on HIS WORDS? Are you so grounded in HIM and HIS thoughts that the events happening around you do not tear you down?

Build your thoughts on HIS Words and Promises. Make sure that you are FILLED with what HE wants you to think. Then, as these difficult moments come your way, you have HIS Words to keep you strong.

Love and blessings,

Rose
