Keep paying attention...
Updated: Mar 12, 2019
It is another day and we have much to be thankful for. Even when the sun doesn’t shine, or things seem difficult, we can find something to give thanks about. I have shared a lot about giving thanks. So, this morning when the following verse showed up on my BibleApp, it intrigued me to want to share about community.
And let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds, (CJB)
What does this verse have to do with community?
It clearly states, “let us keep PAYING ATTENTION to ONE ANOTHER.” In order to “pay attention” to one another we MUST be in community. We must understand that we are there for one another.
God began the idea of community all the way back when the Children of Israel were wondering around in the wilderness. He gave them instructions of how to take care of one another. Through Jethro, Moses was given instructions to work together with others so that the job load would be less. God wanted this group of people to work together and help one another.
If we “pay attention to one another,” we will know when someone is hurting. We will know when we need to offer assistance in a situation. If we truly care for those around us - our neighborhood, job, restaurant we visit… (these are all places we can find community), we will want to pay attention to them and help them as we are able.
Why would we want to “pay attention?”
To SPUR each other on to love and good deeds. If we are there for one another and we listen to one another, we will challenge one another to do good things. We all know that when someone does something good for us, in essence we want to “pay it forward.” It inspires us to bless someone else.
Challenge yourself today to FIND COMMUNITY. Find a place to and way to look around you and help someone. Giving good you will sow good. Take care of those in your path. Pay attention to those HE places in front of you.
Love and blessings,
