We have this HOPE… Hebrews 6:19 and Psalm 43:5
This morning I turned the page on the calendar we have had since we were married. I like this particular flip calendar because there are no days of the week, just dates. We have used it every year. It also has the verse on top, and then some thoughts that Billy Graham wrote about the verse below. At one point, soon after the Billy Graham center opened in North Carolina, we went to visit it and looked for a new calendar because this one was falling apart. We found one that was updated, so we bought it. When we got it home and opened it, I was actually disappointed. The verse had moved to the bottom of the page and the comments were first. Not that I didn’t like what Billy Graham had written, but I missed seeing the Word of God on the top of the page. It changed everything for me.
Needless to say, I still have the old one that is falling apart. I don’t know where the other one is! It might sound crazy, but that is how important the Word of God is for me.
The verse on this calendar today was from Hebrews 6:19:
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (NIV)
The word that stuck out to me was HOPE.
We did our Bible time together and read from Psalm 43 and verse 5 said:
My soul, why are you so downcast?
Why are you groaning inside me?
Hope in God, since I will praise him again
for being my Savior and God.
Once again the word that stuck out to me was HOPE.
HOPE is our anchor. We know that God is with us, so we can always have HOPE to keep us afloat. We might not be sailing anywhere at the moment, but HOPE will keep us secure.
The verse from Psalms says that we have HOPE in God. If we are downcast and trying to groan because of discouragement…
We need to sing praises and find HOPE!
Today is a Monday and I know many people get discouraged. Find HOPE today. Sing praise today. HE is your Savior and God.
Love and blessings to all,
