Let the Word Guide...
Matthew 17:9-13 9 As they came down the mountain, Yeshua ordered them, “Don’t tell anyone what you have seen until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.” 10 The talmidim (disciples/students) asked him, “Then why do the Torah-teachers say that Eliyahu (Elijah) must come first?” 11 He answered, “On the one hand, Eliyahu is coming and will restore all things; 12 on the other hand, I tell you that Eliyahu has come already, and people did not recognize him but did whatever

Asking for a "word..."
Matthew 16:1-4 Then some P’rushim (Pharisees) and Tz’dukim (Sadducees) came to trap Yeshua by asking him to show them a miraculous sign from Heaven. 2 But his response was, “When it is evening, you say, ‘Fair weather ahead,’ because the sky is red; 3 and in the morning you say, ‘Storm today!’ because the sky is red and overcast. You know how to read the appearance of the sky, but you can’t read the signs of the times! 4 A wicked and adulterous generation is asking for a sign?

Trust in Adonai FOREVER!
TRUST! This word is found often in the Bible. Here is another verse which shows us WHY we should trust. Isaiah 26:4 Trust in Adonai forever, because in Yah Adonai, is a Rock of Ages.” (CJB) Adonai is a ROCK. A rock is something that is firm and a foundation. If a house is built on the right foundation it cannot be shaken. If we build our foundation on the WORD of God, we have a solid foundation. When the winds come, our faith should not be shaken. I will be the first to admit

Every WORD of God is Pure...
I decided to break up the words that Paul wrote with a Proverb. This verse has encouragement and HOPE as we continue through our week. Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God’s is pure; he shields those taking refuge in him. (CJB) My favorite words from this verse are, “He shields…” Knowing that when I take refuge in HIM, HE will care for me. HE will shield me from the darts that fly towards me. HE will protect me. HIS Words are PURE. HIS Words are “sweet as honey.” HIS Words can be

On ground that is level...
Today I was not sure what verse to do yet, but this verse showed up on my YouVersion Bible App as the verse of the day. I love when HE speaks to me in just a short, simple way... Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do your will, because you are my God; Let your good Spirit guide me on ground that is level. (CJB) The verse itself is pretty straight forward and contains many promises like the rest of the Word. The last line struck me… “On ground that is level.” Why did I like this? So muc

Set them (YOU) apart as HOLY...
Friends… I want you to know today that God set YOU apart. Several weeks ago I read from a prayer that Jesus prayed before he died. John 17 is a powerful chapter and I know that if you read the whole thing you will be blessed. Today I chose to look at verse 17: John 17:17 Set them apart for holiness by means of the truth — your word is truth. (CJB) Jesus prayed in the garden that YOU would be set apart as HOLY. Do you believe that? Do you KNOW that YOU are chosen to be HIS? Wh

The Word in all its RICHNESS...
Today is a Sunday, but no matter the day of the week, the verse today should encourage us to GIVE THANKS! Colossians 3:16 let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts. (CJB) The favorite part of this version of this verse is, “in all its RICHNESS.” The WORD of God is RICH in TRUTH. The NIV says, “Let the message of Christ

HOPE in His WORD...
So many times during the day we stop and wonder what God is doing. We ask Him why someone isn’t healed. We ask Him why the money isn’t available. We ask Him to help us get a job or enter a school. Today’s verse should help us understand what WE can do as we WAIT on Him. Psalm 130:5 I wait longingly for Adonai; I put my hope in his word. I wait longingly… I think that the scenarios above require us to “wait longingly.” We are waiting for a friend to be healed. We are waiting f

Keep safe the great treasure...
Last night our family watch the movie “Paul, An Apostle of Christ.” Surprisingly, I was impressed with the movie. It seemed to portray an accurate understanding of the end of Paul’s life. Although a bit slow, it is definitely worth watching and should give us all something to think about. Because of that, today I chose to look at verses Paul wrote. I was drawn to the book of Timothy. I read 1 Timothy and made it to 2 Timothy 1:14: Keep safe the great treasure that has been e

A LIGHT on my Path...
I realized this afternoon when I was preparing for my next FB live that I never wrote my follow up blog for yesterday! The verse I chose for yesterday is one everyone has heard, and probably even sung! Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my foot and light on my path. (CJB) As we celebrate Chanukah and look at verses about light, this one is a great reminder that the Word of God is the light for us. We need to be using HIS Word to bring us love, joy peace, patience… What are
