How ecstatic...
Matthew 5:1-11 5 Seeing the crowds, Yeshua walked up the hill. After he sat down, his talmidim (disciples) came to him, 2 and he began to speak. This is what he taught them: 3 “How blessed are the poor in spirit!
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 4 “How blessed are those who mourn!
for they will be comforted. 5 “How blessed are the meek!
for they will inherit the Land! (Psalm 37:11) 6 “How blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness!
for they will be fill

A ROCK
Psalm 73:25-26 Whom do I have in heaven but you? And with you, I lack nothing on earth. My mind and body may fail; but God is the rock for my mind and my portion forever. WHO do you have? Do you feel as if your mind and body are failing? So many days I am exhausted. The battle on earth is strong. Trying too hear HIS voice in the middle of so much darkness and chaos is difficult. What great reminders from David that Adonai is our PORTION FOREVER. Adonai is the ROCK we should s

Deep is calling to deep...
This verse showed up on Biblegateway when I opened the website today. An amazing verse. Psalm 42:8 Deep is calling to deep at the thunder of your waterfalls; all your surging rapids and waves are sweeping over me. (CJB) Let’s stop and think about water. I love being cleansed and knowing I am clean. This verse takes it to a DEEP level. Deep is calling to deep. Waterfalls… I love the sound of the rushing water. I could sit by one for hours. I don’t know where David was when he

Your Words are a doorway...
I love Psalms. I think many of us do. The longest chapter in the Bible has so many great verses in it. The most famous is probably verse 105. This one is similar… Psalm 119:130 Your words are a doorway that lets in light, giving understanding to the thoughtless. (CJB) The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (NIV) I chose to use two translations. I like how the CJB uses the word, “doorway.” It makes me feel like when I LISTEN to the WORDS

With my God I can leap a wall...
Do you love the Psalms? Do you appreciate how David brought to life how to live life? Today’s verse is from a Psalm we often read, but by the time we get to this verse, we have probably zoned out. Psalm 18:29-30 “For you, Adonai, light my lamp; Adonai, my God, lights up my darkness. With you I can run through a whole troop of men, with my God I can leap a wall. (CJB) Most of us know and believe that Adonai’s Words are the lamp to our feet and light to our path. Most of us hol

Be STILL before Adonai...
Shabbat. Another Friday has arrived! Another verse about resting and… Psalm 37:7 Be still before Adonai; wait patiently till he comes. Don’t be upset by those whose way succeeds because of their wicked plans. (CJB) BE STILL! Not only is Shabbat about resting and stopping, it means to be still. And then my favorite words, “wait patiently.” Yes, I am being a bit sarcastic. Patience is not a strong suit for me. This verse, however, brings new insight to those words. It is actual

From sunrise to sunset...
Simple is always good. Today’s verse is just that… Psalm 113:3 From sunrise until sunset Adonai’s name is to be praised. (CJB) Give HIM PRAISE ALL the time. From the time you wake up until your eyes close. The more we can praise Him, the more our eyes are off the focus on things around us. We won’t worry or think about the issues that plague us. Praising Him helps us focus vertically instead of horizontally. This verse says from sunrise… as I go to bed tonight I believe my ne

Our Father has compassion...
Today is Father’s Day and so I chose to find a verse about fathers. Psalm 103:13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, Adonai has compassion on those who fear him. (CJB) As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. (ESV) Claim the FACT that you have a FATHER who loves YOU. Look UP. HE is your Redeemer. I had a great father growing up. He loved me. He took care of my needs. So many people today do not have a fathe

Give ear to my words, Adonai...
The book of Psalms always brings a meditative spirit to me. There are so many words that David wrote that bring hope and comfort. Psalm 5:1-3 Give ear to my words, Adonai, consider my inmost thoughts. Listen to my cry for help, my king and my God, for I pray to you. Adonai, in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I lay my needs before you and wait expectantly. (CJB) This is a Psalm that was sung because it says it was done, “on wind instrument.” One can imagine

Remember Your wonders of old...
Reflecting on making decisions is not easy… Sometimes we have to stop and REMEMBER! Psalm 77:12 So I will remind myself of Yah’s doings; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. (CJB) In the Passion Translation it says: I ponder all you’ve done, Lord, musing on all your miracles. (TPT) Clearly, God takes care of us every step of the way. We may not always like what is happening. We may believe that what He is doing is not fair or right. When these moments happen, we must STO
