Tzitzits and Healing
Matthew 9:18-26 18 While he was talking, an official came in, kneeled down in front of him and said, “My daughter has just died. But if you come and lay your hand on her, she will live.” 19 Yeshua, with his talmidim (disciples/students), got up and followed him. 20 A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years approached him from behind and touched the tzitzit (fringes/prayer shawl) on his robe. 21 For she said to herself, “If I can only touch his robe, I will be healed.”

How to pray...
Matthew 6:7-15 7 “And when you pray, don’t babble on and on like the pagans, who think God will hear them better if they talk a lot. 8 Don’t be like them, because your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 You, therefore, pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven!
May your Name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come,
your will be done on earth as in heaven. 11 Give us the food we need today.
12 Forgive us what we have done wrong,
as we too have forgiven those who ha

The Spirit helps us in our weakness...
Weakness… We all have our moments. This is a good verse to be reminded of when we just can’t get ourselves motivated. Romans 8:26 Similarly, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we don’t know how to pray the way we should. But the Spirit himself pleads on our behalf with groanings too deep for words; (CJB) There is not too much explanation needed for these words. Clear. Precise. To the point. I am thankful that the Spirit inside of me HELPS me. He PLEADS on my behalf. He

The Soul...
THE SOUL that You have given me, O God, is pure! You created and formed it, breathed it into me, and within me You sustain it. So long as I have breath, therefore, I will give thanks to You, My God and the God of all ages, Source of all being, loving Guide of every human spirit. Mishkan T’filah A Reform Siddur Page 292 A short Jewish prayer... My prayer today. May you KNOW your Creator in Spirit and in Truth and give thanks as long as you have breath! Love and blessings, Rose

Keep persisting in PRAYER...
Our family finished reading the book of Colossians today. Lots of power packed verses that Paul wrote to the community of faith in Colossae. This little book has some great WORDS from God that we should be using in our daily walk with Him. Colossians 4:2 Keep persisting in prayer, staying alert in it and being thankful. (CJB) PERSIST. This is a strong word that we should not take lightly. PERSIST means to KEEP GOING. KEEP TRYING. DON’T GIVE UP! STAY ALERT. The next command gi

The Lord's Prayer...
Today is a simple verse… The Lord’s Prayer in two translations you probably have not heard before. Matthew 6:9-13 You, therefore, pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven! May your Name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us the food we need today. Forgive us what we have done wrong, as we too have forgiven those who have wronged us. And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One. For kingship, power and gl

Rejoice in your HOPE...
I love when I find verses that are easy to remember where they are found. Like 33:3 or 10:10. Today when I was looking up verses about patience, this one came up: Romans 12:12 Rejoice in your hope, be patient in your troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer. (CJB) Three things we NEED to do are found in this verse. 1) REJOICE in your HOPE. 2) Be PATIENT in your troubles. 3) Continue STEADFASTLY in PRAYER. Yesterday we focused on hope and how to find it - because we are bo

Shabbat is for the foreigner...
We have come to another Friday. Time for Shabbat. Here is another verse about this special day. Isaiah 56:6-7 “And the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai to serve him, to love the name of Adonai, and to be his workers, all who keep Shabbat and do not profane it, and hold fast to my covenant, I will bring them to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a ho

Jesus PRAYED for YOU
I took a week off to be with family. We needed some time together. During those days we kept reading our Daily Torah Portion. There is always a portion at some point during the week from the New Testament. This time it was the prayer Jesus prayed in John 17. When most people think of the prayer that Jesus prayed they think of the Lord’s Prayer. This one is totally different. You really need to take time to read it. The verse I chose to read and focus on is John 17:9 “I am pra
