Some of my favorite...
Proverbs 6:20-23 My son, obey your father’s command, and don’t abandon your mother’s teaching. 21 Bind them always on your heart, tie them around your neck. 22 When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you wake up, they will talk with you. 23 For the mitzvah is a lamp, Torah is light, and reproofs that discipline are the way to life. These are some of my favorite verses in Proverbs. There is no way to break this down because it a

Deep in the Heart
Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, pay attention to what I am saying;
incline your ear to my words.
21 Don’t let them out of your sight,
keep them deep in your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to their whole being. 23 Above everything else, guard your heart;
for it is the source of life’s consequences.
24 Keep crooked speech out of your mouth,
banish deceit from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze on what lies in front of you.

He will LEVEL your path
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him; then he will level your paths. Two verses in Proverbs that are probable the most quoted and well-known. This version is the Complete Jewish Bible. I don't always use it. I also appreciate the ESV and for certain situations The Passion Translation. However, I appreciate these two verses in the CJB. I love the word Adonai. When I sing I love to use the

Stay on the path of LIFE
Proverbs 2:16-22 They will save you from a woman who is a stranger, from a loose woman with smooth talk, 17 who abandons the ruler she had in her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. 18 Her house is sinking toward death, her paths lead to the dead. 19 None who go to her return; they never regain the path to life. 20 Thus you will walk on the way of good people and keep to the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright will live in the land, the pure-hearted will remain

True Shabbat Rest
Matthew 11:27-30 27 “My Father has handed over everything to me. Indeed, no one fully knows the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. 28 “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” I lov

Lead me BACK...
Yesterday I gave you only the Lord’s Prayer. Simple yet profound. How does one follow that? I went back and forth today because I wasn’t sure what to share and I had several verses in my mind. I settled on one from Psalm. Psalm 139:23-24 Examine me, God, and know my heart; test me, and know my thoughts. See if there is in me any hurtful way, and lead me along the eternal way. (CJB) I am sure everyone has read this verse before, or heard it. It is pretty straight forward and D

Stand at the crossroads...
Today was a crazy busy day and I was gone from 10:45 until almost 5:30. Too much for me! But, I was blessed to get my hair taken care of and spend time with a friend who taught my children and I how to make soap! By the time we got back to the house I was thankful for a husband who had made dinner, baked the Challah bread, and then had to finish putting the washer back together. Needless to say, we were ready for SHABBAT!!! That means a verse about rest and I picked one of my
