Reset your Heart
Matthew 5:21-26 21 “You have heard that our fathers were told,‘Do not murder,’and that anyone who commits murder will be subject to judgment.22 But I tell you that anyone who nurses anger against his brother will be subject to judgment; that whoever calls his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing!’ will be brought before the Sanhedrin (court/council); that whoever says, ‘Fool!’ incurs the penalty of burning in the fire of Gei-Hinnom (fire/hell)!23 So if you are offering your gift at

Generation
I got this idea today to begin in Matthew and post a few verses/segment/parable a day... I haven't posted anything since January! Time to start again I guess. I want to use the CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) and bring in the Hebraic understanding as we read through this Gospel. Many different people are doing lots of FB live or teachings. Because so many people are doing something during this time of "quarantine," I want no one to feel pressure to follow along. No pressure to en

A holy remnant...
So many words in the Bible are often overlooked. Small books of the Bible not read. Prophets that spoke Words from Adonai years ago that are not understood today. What do we do with them? I wish I could do a deeper study at times, but I pray that this devotional will wet your appetite for more. I pray that there are pieces within this that will encourage you to dig deeper and ask Holy Spirit to reveal HIS secrets to you. Here is a simple verse from the book of Obadiah. This v

I will NEVER break my covenant...
Finding a verse in Judges was not easy, but like I stated, I am doing my best to find one from every book of the Bible! There are many AMAZING stories in this book, so this verse towards the beginning might give you an incentive to read the whole book to learn more! Judges 2:1-2 Now the angel of Adonai came up from Gilgal to Bokhim and said, “I brought you up out of Egypt, led you to the land I swore to your fathers and said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you; you, for

You were called to be FREE!
July 4th is about freedom. Understanding HOW to be really free is another story… Galatians 5:13 For, brothers, you were called to be free. Only do not let that freedom become an excuse for allowing your old nature to have its way. Instead, serve one another in love. (CJB) Paul told the community of faith at Galatia that they were “called to be free.” He KNEW that there was something holding them back and they needed to let go of the legalism and find a freedom from man-made t

Keep loving each other actively...
Love. It’s a word that is thrown around so easily today. We don’t always know how to love each other. So this verse gives us a clue… I Peter 4:8 More than anything, keep loving each other actively; because love covers many sins. (CJB) The word “actively” is interesting. What does it mean to love each other “actively?” Personally, I believe that it means we must THINK about what we do. We must remember that those around us all have situations. We must be proactive to respond t

Make me HEAR of Your love...
The past couple of days I have been asking God for new and fresh verses. This is one He showed me a couple of days ago. Psalm 143:8 Make me hear of your love in the morning, because I rely on you. Make me know the way I should walk, because I entrust myself to you. (CJB) I read this and knew they were special. Make me HEAR of Your LOVE… when? In the morning! First thing I should do when I wake up is LISTEN for His LOVE. I should do this because I RELY on HIM. HE is my source

Silent in HIS love...
I have been holding out on using this verse. It is so special. It has so many promises. Today when it showed up on Bible Gateway as the Verse of the Day I knew I had to use it… Zephaniah 3:17 Adonai your God is right there with you, as a mighty savior. He will rejoice over you and be glad, he will be silent in his love, he will shout over you with joy.” (CJB) Why do I think this verse is so special? Clearly it says that Adonai is “right there with you.” He is a "mighty savior

The faithful God...
Yesterday I shared about choosing WHO you will serve. Based on that choice, there are promises given to you and here is one from Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy 7:9 From this you can know that Adonai your God is indeed God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him and observe his mitzvot, to a thousand generations. (CJB) When you CHOOSE God and KNOW that He is YOUR God, there is GRACE! Yes, the word grace is in the OLD TESTAMENT! HE is FAITHFU

Focus on things above...
Our family continues to read through the book of Colossians. It is only 4 chapters, but has a lot power packed in it. Colossians 3:2 Focus your minds on the things above, not on things here on earth. (CJB) Some days we just have to THINK outside the norm. Some days we just have to FOCUS on HIM and not deal with the things around us. What does that look like? Looking a couple verses down in 14 and 15 we read: Above all these, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything
