What is YOUR mind focused on?
Today I chose to read several verses. It did not make sense to break them apart. Sometimes in the book of Psalms you just have to keep paragraphs together. Here is Psalm 66:16-20 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth, his praise was on my tongue. Had I cherished evil thoughts, Adonai would not have listened. But in fact, God did listen; he paid attention to my prayer. Blessed be God, who did not reject

You preserve in PERFECT Peace...
Today my FB Live video did not happen as early as expected. I was busy baking with my girls for the community bake sale we are participating in as a family on Saturday. Then it was dinner time and always lots of dishes! I found that I became a bit agitated as at the day went on. I didn’t have my focus in the right place and because I was not “in the Word” I was wearing down emotionally and spiritually. My guard and shield were not strong. It was time for me to FOCUS on the WO

Put your HOPE in Adonai...
Today’s verse is one I “bookmarked” a long time ago on my Bible App. It most likely was on a day I was struggling and finding life challenging. A verse like this is a PROMISE that if we choose HOPE, God is there. Here is Psalm 27:14 Put your hope in Adonai, be strong, and let your heart take courage! Yes, put your hope in Adonai! (CJB) This is a pretty direct and straightforward. Not much messing around. Be Strong. Put your HOPE. Take COURAGE. Put your HOPE. Repetitive with t

You SEEK for ME...
Today’s verse is from Jeremiah. I like this book. In fact, I have come to enjoy reading the prophets. There is so much encouragement, but also exhortation. Lots to process! The YouVersion Bible App on my phone popped up with this verse today. Jeremiah 29:13 When you seek me, you will find me, provided you seek for me wholeheartedly; (CJB) I believe we have all heard the first part of this verse, “when you seek me, you will find me…” Pretty common! Once again, there is a condi

HE KNOWS those who take refuge in Him...
Today’s verse is from the book of Nahum! I am sure many of us do not realize that this book would have a verse like this in it since it is not a book we read very often. However, many of the prophets have encouraging words that can bring HOPE to our day. Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. (RSV) Adonai is good, a stronghold in time of trouble; he takes care of those who take refuge in him. (CJB) What a comfort

I Call to God...
The verse I chose today is from Psalm 57:2. I call to God, the Most High, to God, who is accomplishing his purpose for me. This chapter actually had several verses I wanted to use. Towards the end there were verses about giving thanks and making music. Those are always uplifting and put a song in my heart. I decided to focus on verse two because I thought the last line was important. “who is accomplishing his purpose for me.” Many times when we call out to God we say, “I need

The name of Adonai...
The name of Adonai is a strong tower; a righteous person runs to it and is raised high [above danger]. This verse is probably common and well known for most of you. Some of you might know it as a song. It is from Proverbs 18:10. This version is the Complete Jewish Bible. Why did I choose this? Because we always need a reminder that God is our strong tower. We quickly forget that all we have to do is say HIS name. Adonai Abba Yahweh God Jesus Savior You are not using His name

We THANK YOU God...
We THANK YOU God, and PRAISE Your glorious name! I Chronicles 29:13 Today I was thankful for a verse about GIVING THANKS that is not from Psalms! Don’t get me wrong, I love reading the Psalms. I love understanding from David that in the midst of despair and crud happening around him, he could give thanks. Most of the Psalms end with some form of thanks! However, it is always nice to read a verse in other books of the Bible, especially those hidden in “odd” places - like the o
