A holy remnant...
So many words in the Bible are often overlooked. Small books of the Bible not read. Prophets that spoke Words from Adonai years ago that are not understood today. What do we do with them? I wish I could do a deeper study at times, but I pray that this devotional will wet your appetite for more. I pray that there are pieces within this that will encourage you to dig deeper and ask Holy Spirit to reveal HIS secrets to you. Here is a simple verse from the book of Obadiah. This v

Think about your life!
The prophets. Sometimes we overlook them and think there is nothing relevant in those books for today. I tend to believe that prophecy is progressive and should always be viewed as moving forward. The Words written in the Bible may have been spoken to the Hebrew people years ago, but if the Word of God is LIVING and active, than those Words still hold power today. Here is a TRUTH from the book of Haggai: Haggai 1:5-6 Therefore here is what Adonai-Tzva’ot says: ‘Think about yo

Don't press me to leave you...
I realized this morning that as I am putting my devotional book together I have not chosen a verse from the book of Ruth. HOW CRAZY, because Ruth is one of my favorite books in the Bible! Here is the most popular verse from this book: Ruth 1:16 But Rut said, “Don’t press me to leave you and stop following you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God. (CJB) (Rut is the Hebrew version of Ruth)

Trust in Adonai FOREVER!
TRUST! This word is found often in the Bible. Here is another verse which shows us WHY we should trust. Isaiah 26:4 Trust in Adonai forever, because in Yah Adonai, is a Rock of Ages.” (CJB) Adonai is a ROCK. A rock is something that is firm and a foundation. If a house is built on the right foundation it cannot be shaken. If we build our foundation on the WORD of God, we have a solid foundation. When the winds come, our faith should not be shaken. I will be the first to admit

Observe the charge...
As I continue “walking through the Bible” and finding verses from each book, this verse is key for understanding what God desires from us. David was preparing to move from this life to the next. David knew he needed to instruct his son in the ways of God. If we are going to do this today for our children, this is a good place to start. I Kings 2:1-3 The time came near for David to die; so he commissioned Shlomo his son as follows: “I am going the way of all the earth. Therefo

A lesson from the book of Judges...
All throughout the book of Judges I read the words, “Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord...” I will include a few of these verses here, not to depress us, but to help us understand that God desires us to WORSHIP Him and LISTEN to Him and OBEY Him. It breaks His heart when His children disobey. Judges 4:1 But after Ehud had died, the people of Isra’el again did what was evil from Adonai’s perspective. (CJB) Judges 6:1 But the people of Isra’el did what was evil from

Adonai is GOOD...
The book of Nahum is short, and most people would probably consider it violent and judgmental. It is only a three chapter book, but lots of prophecies to be considered. Let’s look at the first two verses of this book first. Nahum 1:1-2 Adonai is a jealous and vengeful God. Adonai avenges; he knows how to be angry. Adonai takes vengeance on his foes and stores up wrath for his enemies. (CJB) If this was all I read, I would be discouraged. I would wonder what kind of God I was
