God is really speaking to me about prayer. Today’s verse is simple… 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray regularly. (CJB) Two words, but important ones. PRAY! How often? Regularly! If you look at the verses around it, GIVE THANKS and BE JOYFUL! Hmmmm…. I am sensing a theme. Could it get repetitive? Yes… Should it? NO! Obviously God has SOMETHING He wants us to do, and that is PRAY. As we pray we LISTEN! Short. Simple. Powerful. Love and blessings, Rose #Thessalonians #Pray #NoStop #Adon
As the verses I have been receiving have been about prayer and persisting, today I heard the word, “Lifting.” I looked up verses with this word and found numerous in the book of Ezekiel. Ezekiel 3:24 A spirit entered me and put me on my feet. Then he spoke with me and said to me, “Go, shut yourself inside your house. (CJB) This verse does not have the word, “lift” in it, but it speaks of the Spirit putting him, “on his feet.” He was in essence, “lifted” to a different place.
Today I had several verses show up in different places and they were all focused around the same theme… In my mind that means God must be trying to tell me something! Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God’s shalom, passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua. (CJB) As I reflect on this verse, it is quite clear that G
Shabbat! Time to REST! We have reached another Friday and I am looking forward to stopping and LISTENING! Psalm 116:7 My soul, return to your rest! For Adonai has been generous toward you. (CJB) David wrote this and was THANKING God that HE had taken care of him. He was remembering that God HAD done SO much for him and he was telling himself to RETURN to the REST that GOD provides. Sometimes we get so caught up in work and activities that we forget all that GOD has done. We n
Since we finished the book of Colossians, our family decided to read through Philippians. As we read chapter 2 today a verse that I heard often as a child, and have found myself repeating to my children, was in the middle of it. Because we read it from the Complete Jewish Bible they had an interesting word - a Yiddish one - used. Philippians 2:14 Do everything without kvetching or arguing, (CJB) As my daughter read the chapter she used the word “grumbling.” This is how I reme
I decided to break up the words that Paul wrote with a Proverb. This verse has encouragement and HOPE as we continue through our week. Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God’s is pure; he shields those taking refuge in him. (CJB) My favorite words from this verse are, “He shields…” Knowing that when I take refuge in HIM, HE will care for me. HE will shield me from the darts that fly towards me. HE will protect me. HIS Words are PURE. HIS Words are “sweet as honey.” HIS Words can be
Our family finished reading the book of Colossians today. Lots of power packed verses that Paul wrote to the community of faith in Colossae. This little book has some great WORDS from God that we should be using in our daily walk with Him. Colossians 4:2 Keep persisting in prayer, staying alert in it and being thankful. (CJB) PERSIST. This is a strong word that we should not take lightly. PERSIST means to KEEP GOING. KEEP TRYING. DON’T GIVE UP! STAY ALERT. The next command gi
